Afro Cuban
Back to the roots of dance.
Feel the power of the mother continent in every movement. Afro-Cuban body movement is rooted deep in Afro-Cuban dances and their spiritual traditions — the dances of the Orishas, rumba, guaguancó and columbia. The body is taken apart into its pieces, and suddenly you notice how much you can move in isolation. It opens up a new world of dance — and brings more variety into your salsa.

Afro Cuban at a glance
- Isolation
- Chest, shoulders, hips, spine — waves flowing through the body.
- Grounding
- Bent knees, deeply anchored, heavy and earthy.
- Polyrhythm
- One arm follows the conga, the pelvis the bass.
- Inspired by the Orishas: Shango, Yemaya, Eleggua — water, fire, wind.
- Shoulder rolls, chest waves, hip circles, torso isolations.
- Better coordination and body awareness for every style.
